I am primarily a Front End Developer and UI designer with over 9 years experience working for large companies such as Tesco, The Daily Mail and Bounty. I build clean, accessible, semantic web applications which incorporate the latest technologies.
Illy.com are a worldwide leader in coffee. We were tasked with making them a mobile eCommerce website using the desktop site assets. I built the application using HTML5 to match their desktop. Stripping down the markup, I created a flat file prototype using JQuery, HTML5 and CSS3 from wireframes. Firstly producing semantic markup, followed by CSS and lastly the JS behaviour. With no visual designs, we were told to 'make it look and feel like the brand'. What was produced was a slick, stylish and super quick mobile website with usability and UI geared towards a plethora of mobile devices.
I've been crafting my development skills for over 9 years now. Working with very large clients and more recently on popular high street retail websites (the last 4 years). I've seen it all, from the birth of CSS to the rise of responsive, always trying to stay ahead of the game when it comes to new technologies.
I'm most comfortable with Javascript, JQuery, HTML(5) & CSS(3). If you want me to namecheck a few libaries, then I've had experience with Node.js, Require.js, Angular.js along with Dojo. I have good experience building responsive websites and a great awareness of the challenges they can sometimes present.
I think communication is key in any development team, you have to have great personal, as well as technical skills to succeed.
